Dalton-le-Dale History Society

Welcome

William Bowes

Dalton le Dale History Society was formed in 2013 by enthusiasts who wished to explore the heritage on their doorstep and encourage an exchange of ideas and opinions on all matters relating to local history.

Its aim is to be friendly and at the same time provide a platform for members who wish to share / inform others of their current research and provide an opportunity to develop interests in new areas of interest, with support if needed. An active programme is ongoing to capture the memories of residents who have tales to tell about their past and local characters gone, but not forgotten.

Members meet on the last Thursday of each month, commencing 2pm, however, there are some meetings which commence at 7pm, (programme of events for 2017 to be issued shortly), in the Parish Hall. It exists to foster interest, enjoyment, research and publication in the field of our local history. Members pursue their interests individually and collectively, exploring the rich history of Dalton le Dale. We offer members a varied programme of events, including visits, invited speakers, and social occasions.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the history of Dalton le Dale, why not come along, you will be assured of a warm welcome.

Our annual membership subscription is £5 with a monthly meeting contribution to cover costs of hiring the facility.
